In addition to being an Ecojustice monthly donor, Gwen is a policy director with the Wilderness Committee, an organization that values fresh water, healthy forests and a stable climate. She helps citizens defend the environment because she wants future generations to experience a vast Canadian wilderness still teeming with wildlife. She’s discovered that often the best way to protect the environment is through the courts. For more than 20 years, she and Wilderness Committee have worked with Ecojustice to achieve their shared goals. Together, we’ve protected the ancient forest of the Elaho Valley, stood up for the endangered spotted owl and defended bees and wild pollinators from deadly pesticides.
For Gwen, Ecojustice makes the legal system affordable to environment organizations that are often pinched for pennies. She believes Canada’s environment deserves a good lawyer and with Ecojustice it has that.
