Tiny Cryptanthe
Status: In Progress
We are testing the federal government's commitment to protecting all of Canada's endangered species with the tiny cryptanthe and small-flowered sand verbena. Working with national and Alberta ENGOs, we have demanded that the federal Environment Minister recommend implementation of the Species at Risk Act “safety net” requiring federal intervention in provinces that do not have laws effectively protecting species.
Working with national and Alberta environmental groups, we have demanded that the federal Environment Minister recommend implementation of the Species at Risk Act “safety net” requiring federal intervention in provinces that do not have laws effectively protecting species. In the case of the tiny cryptanthe and small-flowered sand verbena, the purpose is to test the federal government's intention and commitment to protecting all of Canada's endangered species. The government has continued to respond by requesting additional time.
