In 2007, we prepared a ground-breaking report on measures taken by the BC government to address the pine beetle infestation, which the government characterizes as the largest terrestrial crisis in the province's history.  The report highlights massive waste, huge clearcuts and generally misguided actions that jeopardize both the environment and a future timber industry.  Many healthy forests are being logged and massive amounts of usable wood are being wasted in response to the mountain pine beetle.
