Bio for Robert Peterson, Staff Lawyer
Staff Lawyer Robert Peterson wants to strengthen environmental law for the protection of all Canadians.

Recognizing that better environmental protection often starts at the local level, Robert also draws upon his municipal law background to help local governments improve their environmental regulations.
Robert also helps individuals and community groups exercise their democratic right to participate in administrative law proceedings to ensure that their environmental concerns are heard.
Prior to joining Ecojustice, Robert acted as legal counsel to local governments throughout British Columbia. Robert regularly prosecuted violators of local government bylaws governing environment protection.
Robert is a graduate of the University of Washington (B.A.) McGill University (B.C.L./LL.B, with distinction). Robert is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Law Society of British Columbia and is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association as Co-Chairs of its national SOGIC Conference.
